I recently had two boilers replaced in my home in Malden, MA with the new gas energy efficient models. The old boilers I had replaced,
a forty year old oil burner and a 1940 gas burner, were costing us too much money to maintain and run.
The first boiler install was started on an extremely cold Monday in February and Ed had warned me that if they had run into any
problems with the 100 year old pipes it may take two days. Edward Mathews and his team completed the job in one day even though
they had to stay late to make sure everything was running correctly. The very next week Ed Mathews and his team returned to replace
the other boiler and again they were able to finish the job in one day.
My sister and I were completely satisfied with the job Ed and his team did. We have seen a significant difference in the heating bills and
it no longer takes an hour to heat the house after the boiler is turned on. Ed and his crew were extremely professional, courteous and
they took the time to make sure everything was cleaned up.
My sister and I were also very pleased with the service after the job. A few days after the new boilers were installed we were
experiencing some loud banging in the pipes that were caused by sediment from the pipes getting into the boiler. Ed was there the day I
called after he finished with his first client and stayed till 10pm to resolve the issue.

Ed Matthews of Matthews Brothers Plumbing & HVAC replaced my heating & air conditioning system last fall in Reading, MA. Ed and his
crew showed up the day they were suppose to at 8AM, worked until 5PM, put down drop clothes on all my floor which were brand new
and finished on time and on budget. They were extremely quiet as my wife did not even know someone was in the house. We have not

Ed and his team replaced our old oil-fired boiler and water heater with a high-efficiency (95% AFUE) wall-mounted Buderus gas boiler
and Superstor indirect water heater. I had tried to go through Keyspan - my gas company in Winchester, MA, but the guys they sent out
to provide estimates were not interested in installing high-efficiency equipment. They were only willing to install the standard Burnham
cast-iron boilers which deliver a lowly 80-85% efficiency and require your chimney to be re-lined.
How was the Mathews Brothers Installation?
Great. I selected Ed because he specializes in installing high-efficiency heating equipment and had solid references. Ed and his guys
were clean, punctual, meticulous and took away the old equipment. They removed the old boiler, water heater, expansion tank and oil
tank which freed up a lot of space in the basement. The new system (see picture) is wall mounted, looks great and takes up a fraction of
the space. Another big benefit is indoor air quality. The new system's air intake comes from outdoors, so it does not reduce the oxygen
level in the house. Also, I no longer smell the oily smell from the old system. In terms of cost, I ran detailed calculations and expect to
save about $750/year in fuel costs.

We live in Lexington, MA. We were looking for a Unico installer, where we contacted Mathews Brothers Plumbing & HVAC. The
installation was very smooth, as this was an attic installation. The workers showed up on time and made sure everything was cleaned up
each day. We had new rugs installed the month before, so we were very relieved when the workers wore protective shoe covers
whenever they were in the house. The Unico System has been installed for about 2 years without any problems, where we were very
pleased to receive a call from Ed Mathews in the 2nd year of the system to make sure the system was operating properly.

Our home needed a new boiler in Belmont, MA. Our old boiler was fifty years old, very inefficient and covered with asbestos. We had
looked into a few types of boilers: Munchkin, Weil Mclain, Buderus and Lochinvar. Mathews Brothers HVAC was able to educate us on
the advantages and pitfalls of high efficiency systems as well as walk us through the process on Gas Networks rebates. We eventually
chose a Buderus GB142 with a Superstor installed by Ed Mathews and his guys. We were very please with their ability to retrofit a
1950s monoflow system and boiler to a 95% efficient system that has the ability to modulate the boiler temperature. We we especially
please that Ed was able to arrange for disposal contractors to remove the asbestos & old boiler without making a mess out of our
basement that was half finished. I would recommend Mathews Brothers to anyone.

We recently hired Mathews Brothers Plumbing to install our plumbing and HVAC for an addition to our colonial house in Andover. It was
nice to only have to deal with one company for both the heating and plumbing, where the staff at Mathews Brothers could not have been
more helpful in educating us some of the different products and systems that are available. We installed a radiant heating system with
air conditioning, but we were most pleased with the time and effort Mathews Brothers took in installing some high end fixtures that we
chose for our new master bath. This was a renovation that we had been planning for years, where we were happy to find a contractor
that understood how important this project was for our family.

We hired Matthews Brothers Plumbing & HVAC to replace our old oil steam boiler in Arlington. Matthews Brothers installed a new
Burnham steam boiler through the National Grid oil to gas conversion program. Our oil bill was around $600-$800 last year, while our
gas bill has averaged around $300 this season. We predict that the installation will pay for itself by next year as Ed Matthews predicted.
Our new gas system is very quiet compared to our old oil boiler, while there is no longer any foul heating oil odors in our basement.
